I finished this with a few hours left in March. Nothing like waiting until the last minute - story of my life lately! Anyways, here's what I'm loving right now. RMS Raw Coconut Cream I’ve always had very sensitive skin and have to be really carful of what products I use on my body. Sadly, I've passed this on to my daughter...sorry M! I discovered RMS Beauty a while back and have been obsessed with their products. Everyone talks about all the amazing benefits of coconut oil so I figured I’d give the RMS Raw Coconut Cream a try and it didn’t disappoint. While I was pregnant, my nose was super sensitive to certain smells and I loved that this product didn’t have an overwhelming coconut odor. I put a small amount of this stuff on my...

With spring right around the corner, this smashed pavlova with mulberries and roasted raspberry jam is the perfect dessert for any gathering. There is an art to pulling together a veggie or cheese platter and I'm going to refer to this pretty veggie platter for my next party. I'm long overdue for a haircut - I'm talking about 10 months! I'm gonna get a lob when I finally make it in to a salon and use these styling tips. I love this casual outfit from Sequins & Things. I'm definitely gonna steal this look! How awesome are these pastel highlighters? I can't wait to order a set! Here are some Easter decorating ideas if you're in need of some last minute ideas. If I actually was prepared for Easter, this personalized...

hippity hoppity – easter basket idea for little ones

March 24, 2016 0

Call me crazy, but I'm hosting Easter this year and will have 18 people over on Sunday...eeeeek. On top of that, the hubby came home from a business trip with a cold that I now have and we're going away for a quick trip to Sonoma through Saturday. So yes, I'm slightly crazy! I recently got a Silhouette Cameo and decided that I was gonna put it to use this Easter. I'm a little sad that I didn't start using it sooner! Check out the place cards I made for my table. With 18 people, it's really helpful to give everyone an assigned seat so no one has to go through the whole "where are you gonna sit" song and dance. It's just easier for everyone. Now that I have the Silhouette machine I don't have to sit there and hand cut 18 eggs - it's a...

Holy moly, I want to make this cake. I mean, Dark Chocolate Vanilla Bean Marshmallow Dream Cake. I think this is what dreams are made of! The wrapping job on my presents is always so underwhelming - maybe it's because I don't really like wrapping anything. Either way, this is a super easy and very cute way to add a little pizzazz to any present. A friend sent me this video of old Hollywood dances set to 'Uptown Funk'. I think I've watched it about 20 times already! Bonus points if you know can name each of the movies. I found Chalk Full of Love on Instagram and love everything she makes. I just ordered a few items that I'll be featuring on the blog soon, so stay tuned! I've been really craving a pork chop recently (strange, I...

Today completely crept up on me - I don't know where time goes anymore! I blame it on having a baby, but really, the days just fly by. So here I am trying to whip together something easy to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and my solution is this fun box of treats. I was pretty happy about how the boxes came together. What I love most is that you can easily make this for any holiday by switching around the goodies. Maybe some chocolate hearts for Valentines day, pumpkin caramels for Thanksgiving, or peppermint bark for Christmas...you get the idea. I found these boxes at The Container Store. Does anyone else find themselves wondering this store for hours looking at all the fun stuff they have? I go in for a specific item and come out...

pie for pi day

March 14, 2016 0

3.1415926...and that's all I've got when it comes to reciting Pi. While the rest of the numbers are still fuzzy, I can remember seeing the banner hung around the perimeter of our 7th grade classroom. If only I'd paid closer attention in class 20 years ago, I might be able to give you more than 8 numbers! How do I like to celebrate Pi Day? With a delicious treat, of course! I originally had a cute St. Patty's Day craft lined up for the blog today (don't worry, I'll post it soon), but yesterday I realized that I needed something for Pi Day. I totally cheated though, because I didn't make this cherry pie. The amazing people at Susie Cakes did all the work for me and all I had to do was take pictures and eat it (really tough job, I know)....

I've apparently had a lot of cake on my mind lately. This Milo Ice Cream Cake...OMG! Get in my belly right now. My LO isn’t old enough yet, but this scavenger hunt is an adorable idea for St. Patty’s Day.  I've always loved chai lattes, but recently I've become obsessed with them. I'm talking about making at least one a day. Loving this recipe right now. I channeled my inner Snoop Dogg when I saw the name of this drink and have been singing "Gin & Juice" all day. Whether you get the song stuck in your head or not, you should definitely try this drink. I’d never skip that meal if breakfast always looked this good every day. I’ll be completely honest - I don’t have a great fashion sense! Fortunately for me the ladies...

a welcome cake

March 7, 2016 0

I have to let you in on a little secret...I have a huge sweet tooth. It's actually a little out of control lately. I'm talking about needing a delicious treat (our name for dessert in my household) after almost every meal. I think part of this problem stems from my Pinterest addiction. I'm constantly pinning tasty desserts all day and it leaves me wanting something sweet to eat. So yes, I blame Pinterest for this bad habit and not my lack of will power when it comes to delicious treats. Since I only seem to have sweets on my mind lately, I thought creating a yummy cake would be a great way to start off my blogging adventures. After all, I love cake enough to name my site after it! So I present to you this amazing almond cake with a...
